APD Planning & Preparation Services

Planning and preparation involves the identification, scheduling, and management of specific tasks that need to be completed before, during and after a Managed Pressure Drilling project.


Project Planning and Preparation depends on the scope of work but will typically involve:
  • Defining tasks related to the project objectives and schedule
  • Coordinating visits and conference calls with appropriate suppliers and the Customer to review the assigned tasks, schedules, and performance expectations
  • Developing and communicating a workable, cost effective plan to integrate the well, rig, and MPD systems
  • Developing the procedural and training requirements
  • Developing a plan to achieve on-schedule and on-budget execution of MPD operations

Project Planning also involves work to:

  • Define specific tasks and expectations as it relates to MPD performance during critical drilling phases, contingencies, well control operations, and achieve production objectives
  • Coordinate, if requested, DWOP meetings
  • Deliver pertinent documentation for well objectives, pressure regimes, bottomhole assemblies, and MWD PWD tool location in the BHA

In addition, Project Planning involves:

  • Coordinating & reviewing HAZOP
  • Developing HAZID / HAZOP exercises
  • Preparing & conducting HAZOP training workshops
  • Writing & distributing a HAZOP / HAZID report
  • Reviewing operator safety cases and modifying for project specific applications
