Project Planning and Preparation depends on the scope of work but will typically involve:
- Defining tasks related to the project objectives and schedule
- Coordinating visits and conference calls with appropriate suppliers and the Customer to review the assigned tasks, schedules, and performance expectations
- Developing and communicating a workable, cost effective plan to integrate the well, rig, and MPD systems
- Developing the procedural and training requirements
- Developing a plan to achieve on-schedule and on-budget execution of MPD operations
Project Planning also involves work to:
- Define specific tasks and expectations as it relates to MPD performance during critical drilling phases, contingencies, well control operations, and achieve production objectives
- Coordinate, if requested, DWOP meetings
- Deliver pertinent documentation for well objectives, pressure regimes, bottomhole assemblies, and MWD PWD tool location in the BHA
In addition, Project Planning involves:
- Coordinating & reviewing HAZOP
- Developing HAZID / HAZOP exercises
- Preparing & conducting HAZOP training workshops
- Writing & distributing a HAZOP / HAZID report
- Reviewing operator safety cases and modifying for project specific applications
