In this follow-up to the successful Habanero #2 geothermal well in Australia's Cooper Basin, Geodynamics applied the Dynamic Annular Pressure Control system to mitigate the risks of influx and lost circulation in the high temperature, overpressured, and fractured granite. At Balance set to control pressure in High Pressure High Temperature well in the North Sea At Balance was selected to control pressure for an upcoming high pressure high temperature well in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. This represents first use by a North Sea operator to manage pressure in a HPHT well with the At Balance with Smith Automated Pressure Drilling system. At Balance, Smith, and M-I Swaco provided a complete package of Automated Pressure Drilling services for liner drilling operation in south Texas depleted gas field. This was the second liner drilling application in this field using the Dynamic Annular Pressure Control system together with the HOLD 2500 rotating control device from Smith and the Super AutoChoke technology from M-I Swaco to control pressure. |
