Since its incorporation in December 2004, @balance has lead the trend in automated managed pressure drilling - an upstream technology segment focused on delivering the benefits of constant bottomhole pressure control.

With the merger between Schlumberger and Smith a new business was formed called Dynamic Pressure Management comprised of MPD, UBD, and pressure control systems and services from @balance, Optimal Pressure Drilling Services, Smith, and M-I SWACO. This new segment will focus on delivering engineered solutions to pressure related and potential well control problems in difficult and conventionally impossible to drill fields.
